School Meals

At Sheriff Hutton Primary School meals are cooked on-site  in our kitchen and children may choose from a hot or cold option. Meals are prepared by North Yorkshire County Caterers who follow a three week cycle, providing a balanced healthy daily menu. Children may bring a packed lunch if they prefer.

Sandwich Options

All children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 are eligible for a free school meal at lunchtime and are given a free piece of fruit or vegetable.

At morning playtime there is a ‘Snack Shop’ which sells toast, bagels, crumpets and ciabatta as well as fresh fruit juices.

Children are encouraged to drink water throughout the day as hydration can make a difference to concentration levels. We ask that children bring a suitable named water container into school which they can refill at our water station.

We offer milk to all of our children through the Cool Milk scheme. This is free for under 5’s and is subsidised for children aged 5 and over. For more information click here.
