Our class names are inspired by our local area.
Bertram de
Bulmer
was Sheriff of York and was responsible for the rebuilding of Sheriff Hutton Castle in 1140.
Anne
Neville
, wife of Richard III. The important Neville family received overlordship of Sheriff Hutton in 1331.
The Forest of
Galtres
was a royal forest established in the Norman period, Sheriff Hutton Castle was built within this forest.
Castle
Howard
is a few miles from Sheriff Hutton and is home to the Howard family. Thomas Howard carried out repairs to Sheriff Hutton Castle in 1537.
The
Little Deputies
is our nursery and pre-school provision. The name was selected due to links with a Sheriff and the Deputy Sheriff.
