Galtres Class is for our children in Years 3 and 4.
Mrs Pearson teaches in Galtres Class with the support of Mrs Priestley.
In Galtres class, children get to explore lots of exciting topics while becoming more confident and independent learners.
In English, they read a wide range of books to inspire their writing while developing a clear understanding of grammar.
In maths, they practise important skills like times tables, fractions, telling the time, and solving real-life problems.
Science is full of hands-on experiments, where they learn about things like forces, electricity, rocks, and how animals and humans grow and change.
We also enjoy discovering the past in history- Romans, Ancient Egypt and Stone Age are most popular.
Within Geography we embrace our local environment and get outdoors to partake in fieldwork as well as learning about different places around the world such as Antarctica.
Getting creative in our class is really important, we embrace art and DT, using our sketch books.
Computing and keeping safe online is taught throughout the year to provide up to date information.
In the summer term we go swimming every week.
We take learning outside wherever possible and ensure we go on educational visits each term.
