Mrs Holdsworth is the teacher and Mr Warriner supports the learning in Bulmer class.
Bulmer Class is our stand-alone Reception Class, where curiosity is celebrated and every child begins an exciting journey of discovery. Our warm, nurturing environment helps children feel confident, valued and eager to learn.
Staff in our Reception class are passionate about the early years and have a strong focus on wellbeing. Th
rough a rich blend of play-based learning , hands on experiences and carefully tailored support, we aim to spark imagination, build essential early skills and encourage independence.
Our mornings tend to be slightly more structured with short adult directed phonics sessions using the Little Wandle Letters and Sounds Revised Phonics Scheme and maths sessions following the White Rose Maths scheme.
Each afternoon, children immerse themselves in activities they choose, encouraging
independence, creativity and confidence. Whether they are investigating the world around them, expressing themselves through art and design or developing coordination and strength through outdoor play and engaging PE lessons, every moment is designed to nurture curiosity and growth.
We enrich learning further with regular tips into our local community or area such as visits to the railway museum in York, and invite special visitors into school to share their knowledge and experiences. These real-world connections, help bring learning to life, inspire young minds and ensure our Reception children enjoy a vibrant, exciting start to their educational journey.
